Porphyria
Porphyrin is a group of diseases caused by enzyme deficiency in the heme biosynthetic pathway. Porphyrin or its precursors, such as delta; -amino-r-ketovaleric acid (ALA) and probilicholin (PBG), are produced at abnormally elevated concentrations, accumulated in tissues, and excreted in urine and feces. Clinical manifestations, also known as purpura, are divided into two major categories, hereditary and acquired, which are mainly photosensitive dermatitis, abdominal pain and neuropsychiatric disorders. It mainly affects the nervous system and skin.
