Neonatal respiratory distress syndrome
Neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS), also known as hyaline miembrane disease (HMD), indicates that progressive dyspnea, bruising, expiratory moaning, and inspiratory symptoms occur shortly after birth Recession and respiratory failure. It is mainly seen in preterm infants, especially when the gestational age is less than 32 to 33 weeks. The basic characteristics are immature lungs, progressive alveolar atelectasis caused by pulmonary surfactant deficiency, impaired pulmonary fluid transport, and highly permeable exudative lesions between the capillary and alveolar lungs. The pathological feature is the eosinophilic transparent membrane attached to the alveolar wall to the terminal bronchioles.
