Nephrogenic diabetes insipidus

Diabetes insipidus refers to a pathological state in which the kidney cannot concentrate urine and continuously excrete a large amount of diluted urine under normal or elevated plasma ADH. It is a rare renal tubular dysfunction disease. This state of excessive water intake and hypotonic polyuria may be caused by the inability of normal physiological stimulation to cause the release of antidiuretic hormones. Nephrogenic diabetes insipidus is a disease of renal tubular reabsorption dysfunction, manifested as polyuria, thirst and persistent hypotonia.
