Acute epididymitis
Acute epididymitis is a non-specific infection of the epididymis and is the most common infectious disease in the scrotum. Mostly due to posterior urethritis, prostatitis, and seminal vesiculitis, retrograde infection along the vas deferens, bloodstream infections are rare. Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus are the most common pathogenic bacteria. They are common in young and middle-aged people. Urethral strictures, improper use of intraurethral devices, indwelling catheters after bladder and prostate surgery, etc., often cause epididymitis. Followed by the lymphatic pathway, bloodstream infections are the most rare.
