Pneumothorax in children
Pneumothorax refers to the accumulation of gas in the pleural cavity. If pus is present at the same time, it is called pyopleneumorax. The etiology and clinical manifestations of the two are similar, so they are combined. It can be seen from premature babies to older children. It can be spontaneous pneumothorax or secondary to disease, trauma, or surgery.
