Constipation in the elderly
Senile constipation in the elderly refers to reducing the number of defecations, difficulty in defecation, and dry stool. Normal people have bowel movements once or twice a day or once every two to three days. Patients with constipation have less than two bowel movements per week. Constipation is a common symptom of the elderly. About 1/3 of the elderly suffer from constipation, which seriously affects the quality of life of the elderly.
