Esophageal pressure and traction

The esophagus passes and spans many structures and organs during its journey. The lesions of nearby structures and organs can mechanically affect the esophagus, cause external pressure and traction, thereby causing ectopic and deformation, and in severe cases can cause difficulty in swallowing.
