Enteropathic acral dermatitis
Enteropathic acral dermatitis is an autosomal recessive genetic disease caused by a defect in the absorption of zinc in the intestine. The levels of zinc ions in serum and hair were reduced. It is characterized by special skin lesions, hair loss, chronic diarrhea, nail malnutrition, and growth retardation at the mouth and extremities. After treatment with zinc, the rash subsided quickly and completely. Long-term intravenous infusion of high nutrition, such as low zinc content in the nutrient solution depleted zinc, can occur in patients with acquired bowel disease acral dermatitis.
