Hug reflection diminishes or disappears
Hug reflex--when the newborn's posture is suddenly changed, or when he hears a loud voice, he (1) arms outstretched and his fingers spread out; (2) the upper limbs flex and adductively embrace; Sometimes accompanied by crying. Hyperreflexia indicates bilateral brain disease, and disappearance or weakening of the neonatal period indicates that the newborn's central nervous system is in a suppressed state.
