Glaucoma

Glaucoma is an eye disease in which the intraocular pressure is intermittently or continuously increasing. Continuous high intraocular pressure can cause damage to various parts of the eyeball's tissues and visual function. If left untreated, the visual field can be completely lost to blindness. Glaucoma is one of the three major blind eye diseases that cause blindness in humans, with a total population incidence of 1% and 2% after age 45.
