When the face is affected, the folds deepen and form a "lion's face": it is more common in the plaque stage of primary skin T-cell lymphoma, which progresses from the erythema stage, or occurs on normal skin. Plaque, dark red to purple in color, with varying degrees of stool. It can subside on its own, or it can merge to form large plaques. The edges are ring-shaped, arched, or limp. When the face is affected, the folds deepen to form a "lion face".
