Pericardial inflammation

The pericardial membrane is a fibrous membrane surrounding the heart. The lumen of the membrane is a layer of smooth and serous membrane, which is continuous with the epicardial membrane. Pericardial, but some refer only to the wall of the pericardium. Consists of inner and outer layers. It has the function of supporting, protecting and preventing the heart from expanding too much.
