Frog-shaped belly

The frog-shaped abdomen appears in patients with a large amount of ascites or children with loose abdominal muscles. Lying there is like a frog's belly. The stagnant water pushes the belly to both sides, or the abdominal muscles are weak and the abdomen is enlarged. It occurs mainly in patients with cirrhosis, hypoproteinemia, and rickets.
