Tubular necrosis
Acute tubular necrosis (ATN) is the most common type of acute renal failure, accounting for about 75% to 80%. It is a clinical syndrome that occurs due to various causes of renal ischemia and / or nephrotoxicity leading to rapid and progressive decline in renal function. The main manifestations are progressive azotemia caused by significantly reduced glomerular filtration rate, and imbalances in water, electrolyte and acid-base balance caused by poor renal tubular reabsorption and excretion.
