Soft birth canal abnormalities

The soft birth canal includes the lower uterus, cervix, vagina, and vulva. The lesions of the soft birth canal itself can cause dystocia, and other lesions in and around the reproductive tract can also affect the soft birth canal and make delivery difficult, but the former is more common. Dystocia due to abnormalities in the soft birth canal is far less common than dystocia due to abnormalities in the bony birth canal, and is therefore easily overlooked, leading to missed diagnosis. Abnormal soft birth canal means that the uterine mouth, vagina, and vulva are tough and not stretchy enough, so it is difficult for the fetus to pass through.
