Granulomatous
Granuloma is a clear nodular lesion composed of localized proliferation of macrophages. Lesions are small with a diameter of 0.5-2mm. Granuloma formation is the basic feature of inflammation called granulomatous inflammation. Granuloma activated macrophages often show epithelial morphology. Different causes often cause different forms of granulomas, and pathologists can often make a diagnosis based on the characteristics of the granulomas. Typical tuberculosis granuloma can diagnose tuberculosis. If the granulomatous morphology is not typical, special examinations such as acid-fast staining, bacterial culture, serological examination, and polymerase chain reaction (PCR) are often required.
