Ossification of ligaments
With the extensive development of spinal surgery, ossification of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar vertebrae with ligamentum flavum is not uncommon in clinical observations, especially with the two advanced technologies of CT and MRI. The rate has increased significantly. There are many cases of compression or irritation to the spinal cord, and severe cases require surgical resection. Ossification of the cervical ligamentum flavum has been discussed in a special section.
