Skin pigmentation

The color of the skin is determined by the melanin (brown), carotene (yellow) in the epidermis, the oxidized hemoglobin (red) in the dermal capillaries and the reduced hemoglobin (blue) in the vein, of which melanin is the most important. In addition to ethnic and individual differences in skin color, normal people often have physiological pigmentation in exposed parts, wrinkles and friction parts; therefore, the change in skin color should be compared with the skin of patients in the past and around the affected part It should not be judged solely by the depth of color.
