Hypertrophy of limbs
Excessive hypertrophy of limbs: caused by excessive secretion of growth hormone (GH) from the pituitary gland. Adolescents form giant disease due to unopened epiphysis; acrophyseal hypertrophy is formed after adolescent epiphysis has been fused; a small number of adolescents from onset to adulthood continue to develop acromegaly giant disease.
