Chest pain during exhalation
Pleuritis, also known as "costalitis", is inflammation of the pleura. The most common symptom of pleurisy is chest pain. Chest pains often appear suddenly, with varying degrees of severity. They can be ambiguous discomfort or severe stinging. They can only occur when the patient is breathing deeply or coughing. They also persist and are exacerbated by deep breathing or coughing.
