Pyloric obstruction

The pylorus is the narrowest part of the digestive tract, with a normal diameter of about 1.5 cm, so it is prone to obstruction. Due to the pyloric passage obstacle, the gastric contents cannot enter the intestine smoothly, and a large amount of retention in the stomach leads to hypertrophy of the gastric wall muscle layer, enlargement of the gastric cavity and inflammation, edema and erosion of the gastric mucosa.
