Lung involvement

Lung involvement is seen in 85% of patients with mixed connective tissue disease. Of these, only 27% developed clinical symptoms, mainly shortness of breath, chest pain, and dry cough. Few patients develop pulmonary interstitial fibrosis, pleural effusion, pleural hypertrophy, or pulmonary hypertension.
