Tenacious mass in the subauricular area
The subauricular mass is the clinical manifestation of mixed tumor. A mixed parotid gland tumor, or pleomorphic adenoma, is a tumor of the parotid gland that contains parotid tissue, mucus, and cartilage-like tissue, so it is called a "mixed tumor." The mucus and cartilage-like tissues are all transformed from glandular tissues. The outer layer of the tumor is a very thin envelope, which is formed by the deformation of the parotid tissue after compression. It is not a true envelope.
