Round or oval erythema
Discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE) is a skin-mucosa chronic connective tissue disease whose lesions are mainly limited to the skin and oral mucosa. Female patients are about twice as likely as men. DLE's mucosal lesions are ellipsoidal or circular flakes with clear boundaries, the lesions are concave like disks, and there are short white stripes on the periphery arranged radially. The lower lip and red mucous membrane is a common place for DLE. It starts as a dark red pimples or plaques, and then forms erythema-like lesions, flaky erosions, about 0.5cm in diameter, concave in the center of the disk-like shape, with redness or visible capillary dilatation around the periphery, which is radially arranged on the periphery of the redness White short stripes.
