Dry red lips

Chronic cheilitis is also known as exfoliative cheilitis and chronic actinic cheilitis. The lip mucosa is swollen, dark red, and dry, with extensive gray-white bran-like scales, or cleft palate, local itching and dryness, and burning discomfort. In severe cases, there may be erosions and purulent secretions, which may affect the function of the lips (cannot be opened after adhesion).
