Insufficient growth hormone secretion in adults

Adult growth hormone deficiency is often not clinically detectable. The symptoms and signs of hypopituitarism depend on its underlying cause and the lack of some specific pituitary hormones. In most cases, the patient is often unknowingly ill, unable to find any abnormalities, but occasionally it may occur suddenly or quite intensely. The earliest deletions are often gonadotrophins, followed by growth hormones, and finally TSH and ACTH. ADH deficiency is rare in primary pituitary disease, but it is common when the pituitary stem and hypothalamus are damaged.
