Cardia cancer
Cardiac cancer also has a high incidence in esophageal cancer-prone areas in China. According to statistics from these regions and oncology institutions, the ratio of esophageal cancer to cardia cancer is about 2: 1. Due to inconsistent understanding of the scope of cardia, there are different views on the definition of cardia cancer, so that the statistics vary greatly. The correct definition of cardia cancer is adenocarcinoma that occurs in the gastric cardia, which is about 2 cm below the esophagogastric junction. It is a special type of gastric cancer and should be distinguished from lower esophageal cancer. However, it is different from gastric cancer in other parts. It has its own anatomical and histological characteristics and clinical manifestations, unique diagnosis and treatment methods, and poor surgical treatment results.
