Leukocytosis
Leukocytosis means that the total number of white blood cells in the peripheral blood or the absolute number of white blood cells of a certain type exceeds normal. White blood cells are composed of granulocytes, lymphocytes, and monocytes. The main function is to defend against external infections. Under normal circumstances, granulocytes in the bone marrow and granulocytes in peripheral blood maintain a dynamic balance. When the human body develops acute and chronic infections, trauma, poisoning or tumors, the granulocytes in the bone marrow are released more, which increases the white blood cells in peripheral blood. In addition, immune and allergic reactions, extramedullary hematopoiesis can cause leukopenia.
