Mediastinal tumor resection
The middle part of the lungs on both sides of the chest. The front is the sternum and the back is the sacrum. Inside the mediastinal cavity contains important organs such as the chest line, heart, large arteries, large veins, trachea, and esophagus. Generally speaking, the mediastinal cavity can be divided into anterior mediastinal cavity, posterior mediastinal cavity and middle mediastinal cavity. Anterior mediastinal tumors include the most common thymomas, lymphomas, thymic cysts, teratomas, or germ cell tumors, and ectopic thyroid extending from the neck to the mediastinum. Common tumors in the mediastinal cavity include lymphadenopathy, bronchial cysts, pericardial cysts, and lymphoma. After that, schwannomas, neurofibromas, and neuroblastomas are common in the mediastinal cavity.
