Perineal resection of rectal prolapse

Rectal prolapse with perineal resection can only remove the rectum that prolapses outside the anus, and does not solve the cause of prolapse. Therefore, this operation is only suitable for cases where the prolapsed rectum has severe edema, adhesions, inability to return, or has been necrotic.
