Radial styloid stenosis tenosynovitis release
Styloid tenosynovitis of the radial styloid process is also known as stenosing tenosynovitis of the abductor hallucis longus and extensor hallucis. Because the long abductor hallucis longus and short extensor hallucis rise from the middle of the dorsal side of the radius and the interosseous membrane, they pass through the styloid process of the radius and narrow at the base of the first metacarpal bone and the base of the first phalanx. After a long period of excessive friction or repeated injury in the tendon sheath of the radial styloid process, the synovium exhibits edema and increased exudation, causing the wall of the tendon sheath to thicken, adhere or stenose, which is called radial styloid stenosis tenosynovitis.
