Cortical lesion resection

Cortical resection is currently the most basic method for treating focal epilepsy. Initiated by Horsley in 1886, it was later refined and finalized by Penfield et al. The effect of surgery is completely related to whether the epileptogenic focus is removed. The total effective rate was 71%, of which seizures completely disappeared accounted for 43.2%, and seizures significantly improved for 27.8%.
