Colorectal resection and anal anastomosis

The advantage of this operation is that the lower part of the rectum is preserved, and normal defecation reflexes can be performed after the operation. The anastomosis of the colon and rectum outside the anus is easy to operate and can avoid intra-abdominal infection. The main disadvantage is that the tissue is damaged, the pelvic plexus is easily destroyed, which causes postoperative bladder paralysis, and anastomotic leakage and stenosis are prone to occur, and the mortality rate is high.
