Colostomy

The so-called colostomy is an artificial opening made by the surgeon in the abdominal wall in order to treat certain intestinal diseases (such as rectal cancer, ulcerative colitis, etc.), and a section of the intestinal tube is pulled out of the opening and turned over the abdominal wall. An intestinal stoma is formed. Its role is to replace the original perineal anus to exercise defecation function. In fact, it is the diversion of the stool exit, which has little effect on the overall digestive function.
