Ankle fusion

There are many methods of ankle fusion, and the exposure methods are different. The common methods are anterior and lateral exposure. The lateral exposure is sufficient, the lesions are completely removed, and it is safer; the anterior exposure is poor, and the lesions are not easily removed, and it is only used for fusion (see ankle joint exposure pathways in Figures 1 and 2). This article describes the former.
