Tension-free hernia repair
Tension-free hernia repair was invented in 1984 by Dr. Li Jinstein, a hernia treatment expert at the Lichtenstein Hernia Center, a well-known hernia treatment center in the United States, and colleagues. The method is to cover a hernia defect with a meshed patch that is compatible with human tissue. The logic of this hernia surgery method is equivalent to using a rubber sheet to repair a hole in the tire. This method is named Lichtenstein surgical method. This method has been widely promoted due to its tension-free, low recurrence rate, light pain, few complications, fast postoperative recovery, and low cost. After the Likinstein Hernia Center invented tension-free hernia repair, a variety of surgical methods using materials for hernia repair have emerged. These hernia surgical methods have various theoretical foundations, but basically all are improvements in the shape of the repair material.
