Serum sorbitol dehydrogenase
Sorbitol dehydrogenase (SDH), also known as Iditol dehydro-genase (ID), can reversibly catalyze the oxidation of D-sorbitol to D-fructose. This enzyme is mainly distributed in the human body, with very little content in the kidney, brain, heart, spleen and other tissues. The enzyme activity in serum is very low, such as increased enzyme activity, which strongly suggests liver damage. Detection of serum SDH may be more specific than ALT in reflecting liver damage.
