Lactate dehydrogenase isoenzyme

Lactate dehydrogenase has five isozyme forms, which can be separated by electrophoresis. LDH1 and LDH2 are the most common in human heart, kidney and red blood cells. The liver and striated muscle are mainly LDH4 and LDH5. LDH3 is more in the spleen, pancreas, thyroid, and adrenal glands.
