Serum-NO

Nitric oxide is a vasoactive substance released by vascular endothelial cells, epithelial cells, neutrophils, macrophages, platelets and some nerve cells. Low concentrations of nitric oxide can relax bronchial smooth muscle and pulmonary vessels. High concentrations of nitric oxide have toxic effects on airway epithelium.
