Rat erythrocyte rosette formation test
B lymphocytes are related to antibody synthesis and are effector cells of the humoral immune response. The surface of B cells carries membrane surface immunoglobulin (SmIg), Fc receptors, and complement receptors. It binds strongly to the Fc segment of the antigen-antibody complex. Chicken or sheep red blood cells are selected, and the corresponding anti-erythrocyte antibodies are used to sensitize to the EA complex. The Fc receptor of B cells can combine with EA to form a rosette, which is called EA rosette. If the EA complex, in addition to complement, binds to the complement receptor of B cells, an EAC rosette is formed. There are mouse RBC receptors on the surface of B cells, which can bind to mouse RBC to form a murine erythrocyte rosette (M-RFC), which mainly binds to B cells with IgM receptors, and most of them form naive B cells. This test is mainly used clinically to detect the number of B lymphocytes and judge the level of humoral immunity.
