In 1961, Weil-Felix discovered that Proteus OX19 shares common antigens with typhus, endemic typhus, and rocky mountain typhus pathogens; OXK shares common antigens with roundworm pathogens. Proteus OX19 can be used instead of common bacteria. Rickettsia sclerotiorum is used for serological tests for the diagnosis of typhus typhus, and three kinds of bacterial fluids are used for the external response for the differential diagnosis of rickettsial disease.
