Amniotic fluid and urine identification test
When premature rupture of the membrane is suspected, the pH of the vaginal fluid and smear can be used to check for the presence of amniotic fluid (crystals and fat cells) to determine whether it is amniotic fluid. Secondly, qualitative urine protein test is commonly used for identification.
