Optochin sensitive test

Optochin sensitivity test is a test method that uses ethylhydrohydroquinine hydrochloride to specifically inhibit Streptococcus pneumoniae, but to other Streptococci to identify Streptococcus pneumoniae and other Streptococci. Its mechanism of action may be interference with folic acid biosynthesis.
