Serum cholesterol to phospholipid ratio

The level of serum phospholipids is closely related to cholesterol, and the average cholesterol / phospholipid ratio of normal people is 0.94. When cholesterol levels rise with age or dietary conditions, phospholipids also rise. Hypercholesterolemia usually also has hyperphospholipidemia under pathological conditions, but the phospholipid rises later than cholesterol, so the cholesterol / phospholipid ratio is higher than 1.0.
