Indole test

The indole test refers to some bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Proteus, Vibrio cholerae, etc., which can break down tryptophan in the culture medium to produce indole (indigo matrix), and interact with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde in the reagent. If rose indole is produced and red, it is positive for indole test.
