Cerebrospinal fluid alanine aminotransferase
Due to the influence of the blood-brain barrier, the aminotransferases in the cerebrospinal fluid and serum cannot communicate with each other, and diseases outside the central nervous system generally do not affect the aminotransferases in the cerebrospinal fluid. Therefore, the measurement of cerebrospinal fluid aminotransferase activity only reflects the central nervous system lesions. Central nervous system disease is different from liver disease, AST is more diagnostic value than ALT.
