Cerebrospinal fluid glutamine
In the process of amino acid metabolism in brain tissue, the free ammonia produced by deamination can be synthesized by glutamine synthetase to eliminate the toxic effect of ammonia on the central nervous system. The ammonia in cerebrospinal fluid is about one third of that in arterial blood.
