HCO3-reabsorption test

The HCO3-resorption test is a supplementary test used to check whether renal tubular acidification is normal. Urine pH can be alkaline or acidic based on blood HCO3- levels. 24h urine HCO4- can only be titrated with normal acid, urine calcium can be increased or normal (NaHC03 can be injected to make urine alkaline when urine PCO2 is measured, when urine pH> blood pH, urine PCO2> blood PCO2, 2.66kPa or more Diagnostic).
