Polychromatic erythrocytes
Red blood cells are light gray blue or gray red. It is a newly denucleated but not fully mature red blood cell. The volume is slightly larger than normal red blood cells. The basophilic coloring substance in the cytoplasm is a small amount of residual ribosomes, mitochondria and other components. A small amount (about 1%) can be seen in normal human peripheral blood. The increase reflects the active hematopoietic function of the bone marrow, and the red cell line proliferates vigorously. Found in various proliferative anemia.
