Drug vagal block test

The drug vagus nerve block test is to determine the effect of histamine stimulation on gastric secretion before and after application of vagal blockers and antihistamines, which provides a reference for the treatment of ulcers and the choice of surgical procedures. Atropine anticholinergic drugs can block the excitatory effect of the vagus nerve on the digestive glands, thereby reducing gastric secretion. Histamine has a strong effect on stimulating gastric secretion. It mainly acts on parietal cells and increases gastric acid secretion. Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine that blocks gastric basal acid secretion.
